On Saturday, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah pledged to build 100 houses for the victims of the landslide-stricken district in Kerala. Taking to social media platform X, Siddaramaiah emphasized Karnataka's solidarity with Kerala amid the tragic events.

Reposting Siddaramaiah, Gandhi expressed, ''Your commitment to building 100 houses is crucial for the rehabilitation efforts.'' Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also appreciated this gesture from Karnataka.

Sharing a post on X, Rahul Gandhi lauded the Kalpetta Range Forest Officers and other rescue personnel for their dedicated efforts in risky operations amid heavy rainfall.

The rescue operations in Wayanad have intensified with 1,300 personnel deployed, as the death toll climbs to 219. Kerala plans to establish a new township to rehabilitate displaced victims.
