Thousands Flee Gaza Amid New Israeli Evacuation Orders

Thousands of Palestinians fled a central Gaza community on Monday, responding to new Israeli evacuation orders, exacerbating the ever-worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. The displacement adds to the dire situation in an area already teeming with people escaping from southern assault zones.

Israeli forces, who have nearly taken control of the entire Gaza Strip over ten months of conflict, have been focusing on new operations in previously secured areas, targeting Hamas fighters. Hundreds of thousands have converged on the yet unstirred Deir al-Balah, displaced from southern regions like Khan Younis.

The Israeli military reported strikes on 35 Gaza Strip targets while engaging in battles in Khan Younis, Rafah, and Gaza City's Tel Al-Hawa suburb. At least eight were killed in a Khan Younis airstrike. Families are evacuating without much warning, using makeshift transportation as they head to overcrowded areas like Deir.
