In a significant boost to rural infrastructure, the Ministry of Rural Development has approved funding for the construction of 18 roads, totaling 23.766 km, and 2 bridges in Karnataka under the PM-JANMAN scheme. The initiative comes with an estimated investment of Rs. 25.1796 crore, aimed at enhancing connectivity and driving economic development in the state.
This landmark project is designed to:
Enhance Socio-Economic Conditions: By improving connectivity for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), the initiative will help integrate remote habitations with urban centers, thereby elevating the socio-economic status of these communities.
Promote Economic Growth: The development of roads and bridges will facilitate trade and commerce, fostering economic growth in the region.
Increase Access to Essential Services: Better transportation infrastructure will improve access to vital services such as healthcare, education, and markets.
Generate Employment Opportunities: The project will create jobs and stimulate local economies, providing a boost to the employment landscape.
Support National Development Goals: This investment aligns with the government’s vision of achieving a prosperous and developed India (Viksit Bharat), contributing to overall national progress.
The new infrastructure will significantly impact rural areas by bridging gaps between isolated villages and urban centers, ultimately contributing to a more integrated and thriving regional economy.
