One person is dead and at least six others were injured following a mass shooting Sunday at Maplewood Park in Rochester, New York.

Authorities arrived at the park around 6:20 p.m. to find a large gathering disrupted by shots fired, leaving several people suffering from gunshot wounds. An adult in their 20s was killed, another person sustained life-threatening injuries, and five others were hospitalized with minor injuries, according to Capt. Greg Bello.

The identity of the victim fatally shot has not been released pending family notification, Bello said. Multiple police agencies, including the Irondequoit Police, Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Rochester Police, and New York State Police, responded to the scene. A party was confirmed to be taking place in the area at the time of the incident.

"At this point, we don't know how many people were shooting," Bello stated. "We are trying to work our way through as many witnesses as we can." Police revealed no suspects are currently in custody and have urged anyone with footage of the shooting to contact Major Crimes, Crime Stoppers, or call either 311 or 911 with any information.

Rochester is located approximately 340 miles (547 kilometers) northwest of Manhattan.
