Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday vehemently defended himself in the face of allegations regarding fraudulent land allotments by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), which also included allocations to his wife, Parvathi. Siddaramaiah maintained that neither he nor his family had any involvement in the matter.
He accused the opposition BJP and JD(S) of hurling politically motivated accusations out of spite and vengeance, aiming to tarnish his image because they cannot accept his second term as Chief Minister. He stated that Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot has requested a report on the alleged irregularities, affirming that all actions were legal.
Siddaramaiah questioned the allegations, emphasizing that his family's land was taken by MUDA and subsequently, compensatory sites were allocated to them. He stressed that compensatory sites are a common practice under the 50:50 scheme in place for land losers. An investigation by a judicial commission would further elucidate the matter.
