Maharashtra Court Sentences Man for Assaulting Toddler
A Maharashtra court sentenced a man to five years in prison for sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl. The accused was convicted under POCSO charges. The crime occurred when the victim was lured into the accused's home. Five prosecution witnesses were examined.

A court in Maharashtra's Thane district has sentenced a man to five years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl. The verdict was delivered by Special Judge D S Deshmukh on Saturday.
The accused, a resident of Diva, was convicted under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. In addition to the prison term, a fine of Rs 10,000 was imposed on him. Special public prosecutor Sandhya H Mhatre informed the court that the accused and the victim were neighbors.
According to the prosecution, the incident took place on September 17, 2022, when the child was playing outside her house. The accused lured her into his home and committed the assault. During the trial, five prosecution witnesses were examined to establish the case.
