Chargesheet Filed Against Former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna in Major Sexual Assault Case

The Karnataka Police's SIT has submitted a 2144-page chargesheet against ex-JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna. The charges stem from various allegations of sexual harassment, assault, and criminal intimidation. Revanna was arrested upon returning from Germany after incriminating videos surfaced online.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Karnataka Police has filed an extensive 2144-page chargesheet against former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna in connection to a highly publicized sexual assault and rape case. Revanna is under investigation for allegations including sexual harassment and criminal intimidation following a complaint from a woman employed as a domestic help in his household.

In June, the SIT registered a fourth case against Revanna, further intensifying the probe. Unlike previous cases which focused on sexual assault under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the latest charges include sexual harassment, stalking, criminal intimidation, and the surreptitious recording and distribution of the victim's images.

Revanna returned to India from Germany nearly a month after alleged obscene videos featuring him began circulating on social media. He was taken into custody on May 31 after landing at Bengaluru airport. Prior to his arrest, the SIT detained two key suspects, Naveen Gowda and Chetan, who purportedly distributed pen drives containing the incriminating footage. The arrests took place after the suspects sought anticipatory bail from the High Court.
