Tragic Accident in Pune: Truck Mows Down Pedestrians

In Maharashtra's Pune district, a truck accident claimed three lives and injured five others. The incident occurred near Alephata in Junnar Tehsil when the driver lost control on a slope. The victims were returning from a crematorium. An investigation is underway, officials said.

Three persons were killed and five others injured in a tragic accident in Maharashtra's Pune district on Friday, police reported.

The incident took place near Alephata in Junnar Tehsil along the Ahmednagar-Kalyan Road at around 11.30 am, said an official.

The victims had just performed last rites at a nearby crematorium.

The truck driver, en route to Kalyan, lost control of the vehicle on a slope at Gulunjwadi village, resulting in the fatal crash, according to the official from Alephata police station.

Among the deceased were a woman and a child. The injured, numbering between five to six, were promptly taken to a nearby hospital. Police are currently registering a case and investigating the incident.
