At the age of 10, Sukant Kadam's life changed dramatically following a severe knee injury on a cricket field. This left him disabled and away from sports for nearly a decade.
Now, more than twenty years later, this mechanical engineer-turned-para shuttler is set to debut at the Paris Paralympics, fiercely aiming to secure a medal for India.
''I didn't grasp the full impact back then,'' Kadam said, reflecting on his challenges and accomplishments. Despite facing discrimination and underestimations, his dedication to para-badminton has earned him a commendable career with multiple international bronze medals. Kadam is now intensely focused on strong mental preparation and strategic training to change the color of his medal in Paris.
