In a significant breakthrough, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Baljeet Singh, a key aide to Canada-based Khalistani terrorist Lakhbir Singh Sandhu alias Landa. The arrest is part of an investigation into a terror network that supplied deadly weapons for extortion.
According to an official NIA statement, Singh, also known as Rana Bhai and Balli, was apprehended on Thursday in Madhya Pradesh's Barwani district. Singh has been identified as a major supplier of weapons to Landa's agents in Punjab, which were used for large-scale terror activities including extortions.
The terror network's unraveling has also led to the arrest of another of Landa's associates, Gurpreet Singh Gopi, and Khalistani terrorist Satnam Singh Satta, who have both been linked to the conspiracy. The NIA continues its investigation to dismantle the Khalistani terrorist outfits operating from Canada to destabilize India through violent acts.
