In a significant drug bust, Delhi Police have apprehended a man carrying 402 grams of heroin valued at around Rs 2.5 crore, according to officials on Thursday.

The suspect, identified as Sheikh Shahnawaz, 23, was arrested following a police raid in the Jahangirpuri area of outer north Delhi. The operation was launched after authorities received intelligence on his involvement in drug trafficking, stated Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Nidhin Valsan.

Further investigations by the team from Narela Industrial Area Police Station are underway after an FIR was registered against Shahnawaz, who is known to be a habitual criminal with a history of offenses including robbery, theft, and Arms Act violations.
