External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Mauritius for a significant two-day visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between India and the island nation. The visit is among the first major diplomatic engagements since Jaishankar was re-appointed in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's third term.

Upon his arrival, Jaishankar was welcomed by Mauritius' Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maneesh Gobin. The visit underscores India's 'Neighbourhood First Policy' and Vision SAGAR, highlighting a commitment to the Global South. Jaishankar expressed his eagerness for productive discussions, while Gobin lauded the deep and enduring partnership between the two countries.

During his stay, Jaishankar will meet with Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth and other senior officials, aiming to strengthen the multi-dimensional bilateral relationship.
