The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday launched an 'overseas helpdesk' to serve residents of Poonch and Rajouri districts living abroad, with a focus on the Gulf countries. The new facility was inaugurated by Additional Director General of Police, Jammu zone, Anand Jain, and Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, in Poonch district.

Alongside the helpdesk, an 'anti-drug helpline' was also introduced. Both services aim to resolve issues such as property disputes, matrimonial disagreements, legal queries, fraud, and other crime-related matters. The helplines will operate around the clock to provide comprehensive support.

ADGP Jain encouraged overseas citizens to utilize these services for any issues they might face while Deputy Inspector General of Police, Rajouri-Poonch Range, Tejinder Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, Choudhary Mohd Yasin, and Senior Superintendent of Police, Poonch, Yougal Manhas, were in attendance at the review meeting.
