10% Job Quota Reserved for Ex-Agniveers in Allied Forces

The chiefs of CISF, BSF, and CRPF announced a 10% job reservation for ex-Agniveers, following the Union Home Ministry's decision. This move exempts them from physical tests and offers age relaxation. The Agnipath scheme recruits youths for four years, regaining 25% for extended service, with concerns raised over the remaining 75%.

The chiefs of the CISF, BSF, and CRPF declared on Thursday that 10% of soldier posts will be earmarked for former Agniveers, aligning with the Union Home Ministry's recent decision.

Speaking on the Agnipath recruitment scheme, CISF Director General Nina Singh, BSF chief Nitin Agrawal, and CRPF Director General Anish Dayal Singh highlighted the streamlined process and age relaxations designed for ex-Agniveers. Singh emphasized, ''This will be beneficial for the CISF too as the force will get trained and disciplined personnel.''

The Agnipath scheme, initiated in June 2022, recruits youths aged 17-and-half to 21 for four years, retaining only 25% for extended service. Concerns have been voiced over the future of the remaining 75% Agniveers. However, various central agencies have committed to recruiting these trained individuals. ''This is very good for the BSF as we are getting trained soldiers,'' Agrawal remarked, noting the immediate deployment plans post-training.
