In a crucial development in the Renukaswamy murder case, police have acquired CCTV footage that allegedly captures the abduction of the victim by associates of Kannada film star Darshan Thoogudeepa in the district headquarters town.

The footage reportedly shows Renukaswamy engaging in a conversation with someone inside a car before boarding the vehicle, police sources revealed.

Authorities suspect that the 34-year-old pharmacy worker and fan of Darshan was 'lured' by his abductors, ultimately leading to his brutal death in Bengaluru. The 47-year-old star, along with his close associate Pavithra Gowda and 13 others, have been arrested in connection with the murder. Renukaswamy's body was discovered with multiple injuries on June 9 near a storm-water drain. Darshan was allegedly infuriated by obscene messages Renukaswamy sent to Gowda.
