The civil society of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) has erupted in protest, criticizing the government's failure to fund repairs for the Sudhan Gali Road in Bagh district. Once a tourism hotspot, the road has deteriorated into a safety hazard, leaving locals frustrated with governmental inaction.
Activist Raja Abdul Hafeez detailed efforts to secure government support, highlighting a broken promise of a 15.36 crore fund following a June 12 visit by the Prime Minister. Despite persistent appeals, the file remains stalled in Muzaffarabad, prompting mass protests as a last resort.
This marks a significant unified public demonstration, urging immediate government action to restore the road vital for transportation and tourism. As broader infrastructure issues plague PoJK, demonstrators vow continued efforts until the government responds to their urgent demands.
