In a concerted effort to address climatic and community challenges, the Tibetan Centre for Conflict Resolution (TCCR) convened a significant roundtable discussion in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. Held on Tuesday, the event saw participation from Tibetan and Indian activists, environmentalists, and local organization members, including the hospitality sector, municipal corporation, and police representatives.
The initiative, part of the 'Coexisting and Flourishing' series, provided a platform for Indian and Tibetan leaders to reflect on current issues and devise collaborative solutions. Organizers aimed to fortify a decades-long friendship by addressing communal concerns, ultimately strengthening ties between the two communities and nurturing a supportive atmosphere.
Sonam Dechen, TCCR's associate director, highlighted the significance of the discussion, which began in 2008, as a vital platform for communal grievances and aspirations. Indian activist Arvind Sharma and research scholar Priya emphasized the potential for meaningful resolutions. TCCR, since its inception in 2001, has impacted over 12,000 lives through peace initiatives and training programs.
