President Paudel Confers CoAS Insignia to Ashok Raj Sigdel
President Ram Chandra Paudel bestowed the insignia of Chief of Army Staff to Ashok Raj Sigdel in a ceremony at Sheetal Niwas. Top government officials, including Vice President and Prime Minister, attended. Sigdel, serving for three years, succeeded Prabhu Ram Sharma.

In an official ceremony on Monday, President Ram Chandra Paudel conferred the insignia of Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) upon Ashok Raj Sigdel at Sheetal Niwas, the presidential office in Nepal.
President Paudel also administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed CoAS. According to the constitution, the President is the supreme commander of the Nepal Army. The event witnessed the presence of Vice President Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Chief Justice Bishowambhar Prasad Shrestha, and other high-ranking officials.
Sigdel, appointed by President Paudel on August 28, will officially assume his duties starting September 9, succeeding Prabhu Ram Sharma, who has been on a month-long leave since August 8 due to mandatory retirement. Sigdel's tenure will last for three years.
