Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened with Singapore's Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on Thursday, engaging in dialogues aimed at bolstering bilateral cooperation. This high-level meeting resulted in the exchange of ideas focused on expanding collaborative efforts between both nations.

In a significant move, former Singapore PM Lee Hsien Loong hosted a lunch in honor of PM Modi. The two leaders discussed various regional and global issues of mutual interest, as stated by a Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) press release. Their dialogue emphasized further strengthening the India-Singapore Strategic Partnership.

During the visit, PM Modi appreciated Lee Hsien Loong's contributions and expressed aspirations for continued guidance in his new role. Both leaders acknowledged substantial potential for enhanced cooperation under the framework established during the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtables. Discussions included futuristic sectors like green energy and FinTech, and four MoUs were exchanged to expand collaborative efforts in digital technology, semiconductors, skill development, and healthcare.

Additionally, PM Modi and PM Wong held meetings at the Parliament House, reviewing the progress of bilateral relations and elevating their ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This move aims to bolster India's Act East Policy. The celebration of the 60th anniversary of bilateral relations in 2025 and accelerated actions under identified cooperation pillars were also discussed. The visit included a tour of a semiconductor facility with interactions between PM Modi, PM Wong, and various interns and engineers, marking a significant development in India-Singapore relations.
