External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar highlighted the potential for India and Singapore to elevate their bilateral relationship ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Singapore. Jaishankar emphasized the need for both countries to adapt to global changes and intensify their collaboration in various sectors.
Jaishankar remarked that India and Singapore's ties have been robust for the past two decades. He called for Singapore to seize current opportunities, much like it did in 1992 and 2006. The minister underscored India's rapid growth and modernisation in the last decade as a pivotal factor for deeper cooperation.
Beyond strengthening bilateral ties, Jaishankar stressed the importance of closer collaboration in an unpredictable world, rooted in mutual trust. Key areas for future cooperation include semiconductors, green technologies, electric mobility, and connectivity.
