Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday attended a lunch hosted by Singapore's Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong. The two leaders exchanged warm greetings and engaged in discussions over lunch.

During his two-day visit to Singapore, PM Modi toured the semiconductor facility of AEM Holdings Ltd, accompanied by Singapore's Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. Modi invited Singaporean semiconductor firms to participate in the SEMICON INDIA exhibition scheduled in Greater Noida from September 11-13.

At the AEM facility, PM Modi and Wong were briefed on AEM's global role in the semiconductor value chain and its operations in India, according to a Ministry of External Affairs press release. They also interacted with Indian and Singaporean interns, as well as Indian engineers working at AEM.

Earlier, PM Modi and Wong discussed enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including skilling, healthcare, and artificial intelligence. Modi highlighted these discussions in a post on social media platform X, emphasizing the need to boost trade relations.

On Thursday, India and Singapore signed four significant Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) covering digital technologies, semiconductor collaboration, health and medicine initiatives, and education and skills development. The MoUs were exchanged in the Singapore Parliament House in the presence of both Prime Ministers.

Before the meeting, PM Modi received a ceremonial welcome at the Singapore Parliament House, where he signed the visitors book and met with various ministers and delegates from both nations. Modi's visit to Singapore follows his two-day trip to Brunei.
