Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Singapore on Wednesday, ushering in the second and crucial leg of his two-day national visit. The Indian leader will engage in various high-profile meetings throughout Thursday, aiming to strengthen bilateral ties between India and Singapore.

In a post shared on his X handle, PM Modi expressed contentment after meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. 'Happy to have met my friend, PM Lawrence Wong. Had an excellent discussion on a wide range of issues. India cherishes the friendship with Singapore,' Modi wrote. Wong reciprocated by tweeting a photo of their meeting and hosting Modi for dinner at the Istana, the presidential residence.

According to Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, Modi's visit will significantly fortify India-Singapore relations. 'Fortifying India-Singapore bonds of friendship. PM Narendra Modi warmly hosted by PM Lawrence Wong at the iconic Sri Temasek in Singapore,' he noted. Jaiswal highlighted that the trip will further India's Act East policy and strengthen economic and technological ties.
