Dubai [UAE], September 4 (ANI/WAM): Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has announced the launch of a digital greenhouse gas emissions tracking system aimed at increasing transparency and accelerating decarbonisation, in accordance with the UAE's National MRV Transparency System. This makes EGA the first company in the UAE to implement such technology.
The Greenhouse Gas Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) system is a centralized digital platform for cataloging Scope 1 and 2 emissions data. The system allows EGA to automate emissions tracking, documentation, and validation by independent auditors. Information is provided via standardized dashboards to stakeholders, including government entities and customers. Notably, the UAE is the first nation in the region to establish an integrated greenhouse gas emissions and air quality MRV system.
Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, CEO of EGA, stated that the GHG MRV solution will assist EGA in meeting evolving regulatory norms while maintaining transparency and auditability of emissions data across its production processes. This tool is pivotal in EGA's goal to embed sustainability into its operations and achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The UAE's Ministry of Climate Change & Environment has mandated companies to report GHG emissions data to monitor the nation's progress towards its net zero commitment by 2050. (ANI/WAM)
