This initiative supports the National Programme to Combat Obesity among Children and Adolescents.
Held at various locations, including the Ministry's headquarters in Dubai, the Teacher Training Institute in Ajman, and Sharjah, the workshops targeted school nurses and physical education support staff. The focus was on training these professionals to record accurate anthropometric measurements for students aged 5 to 17.
These workshops aimed to develop standardised protocols for data collection and analysis, enhancing preventive health policies based on precise scientific evidence. Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Public Health Sector, highlighted that these workshops are crucial for promoting community health and achieving the objectives of the National Programme to Combat Obesity in Children and Adolescents.
