Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted India's significant transformation over the past decade while addressing the Indian community in the United States. Speaking in Washington, Singh emphasized the country's rising global stature, stating, 'India is now listened to seriously on the global stage.' Singh is on an official visit to the US from August 23-26, at the invitation of US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin.

Addressing the Indian diaspora, Singh noted the shift in global perception towards India, attributing it to the country's economic and strategic advancements. He invoked US Ambassador Eric Garcetti's remarks, 'If you want to see the future, come to India.' Singh also highlighted India's projected economic ascent, stating, 'India will be among the world's top three economies by 2027.'

The Defence Minister underscored the remarkable growth in India's defense sector, citing an increase in defense exports from ₹600 crore to ₹23,000 crore over the past decade. During his visit, Singh is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with US Secretary Austin and meet National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, according to the Ministry of Defence.
