Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid homage at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw, Poland. The monument honors fallen soldiers throughout Poland's thousand-year history and houses the remains of a Nameless Soldier who fought against the Bolsheviks in 1920.
Modi's visit coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Poland. After a grand ceremonial welcome, he engaged in bilateral talks with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, where they decided to elevate their relationship to a 'Strategic Partnership'.
The discussions covered various aspects of bilateral ties including trade, investment, science and technology, defense and security, as well as cultural ties. They also explored ways to enhance cooperation in key sectors like food processing, urban infrastructure, renewable energy, and artificial intelligence. This significant visit marks the first time in 45 years that an Indian Prime Minister has visited Poland, aiming to inject new momentum into their partnership.
