Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Warsaw, Poland on Wednesday, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 45 years. During this historic visit, PM Modi will meet his Polish counterpart and the President while also engaging with the Indian community. He will lay a wreath at the memorial dedicated to Jam Saheb of Nawanagar.

The memorial honors Jam Saheb Digvijaysinhji Ranjitsinhji, the former Maharaja of Nawanagar who established a Polish Children's Camp in 1942. PM Modi will also visit the monument at Monte Cassino, which commemorates the 1944 victory of the Second Polish Corps during World War II, and the adjacent Kolhapur Memorial.

Speaking before his departure, PM Modi highlighted the significance of the visit as both nations mark 70 years of diplomatic relations. He referred to Poland as a key economic partner in Central Europe. India's Ambassador to Poland, Nagma Mallick, emphasized the strong economic ties, with bilateral trade amounting to USD 6 billion. After Poland, PM Modi will visit Ukraine upon the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, another first for an Indian Prime Minister.
