Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to Visit US for High-Level Talks

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to visit the US from August 23-26 for bilateral discussions with Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin and other senior officials, aiming to strengthen the India-US strategic partnership.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will embark on an official visit to the United States from August 23 to August 26, as announced by the Ministry of Defence. During this trip, Singh will engage in bilateral talks with his US counterpart, Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin.

He is also scheduled to meet Jake Sullivan, the US Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs. According to an official statement from the Ministry of Defence, the visit is at the invitation of US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin. The Raksha Mantri will hold important bilateral meetings and discussions with Secretary Austin and meet Mr Jake Sullivan.

The visit is seen as an opportunity to further deepen and broaden the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, especially in the backdrop of growing India-US relations and defence engagements. Singh will also chair a high-level roundtable meeting with the US defence industry to discuss ongoing and future defence collaborations. Furthermore, he will interact with the Indian community during his visit.
