UAE Reaffirms Humanitarian Commitment in Gaza for World Humanitarian Day

Dubai [UAE], August 20 (ANI/WAM): On World Humanitarian Day, August 19, the UAE reinforced its unwavering dedication to humanitarian causes by spotlighting its ongoing relief operations in Gaza. The nation, through 'Operation Chivalrous Knight 3,' has continually spearheaded efforts to provide aid to Palestinians.
In a span of 288 days, the UAE has dispatched four relief ships loaded with 18,530 tonnes of diverse supplies, ranging from medical necessities to food and clothing. This humanitarian mission also saw 257 planes and 104 convoys delivering over 25,000 tonnes of aid to support the displaced population. Crucially, the UAE has significantly bolstered Gaza's healthcare sector, operating field hospitals and providing medical supplies and prosthetic limbs.
Additionally, the 'Birds of Goodness' initiative executed 50 airdrops, ensuring that 3,382 tonnes of essential aid reached inaccessible areas in northern Gaza. In aiding infrastructure, the UAE constructed six water desalination plants and repaired critical water lines, ensuring that local authorities are equipped to meet the needs of displaced families.
