Dubai, UAE [August 20] (ANI/WAM): The World Green Economy Summit (WGES) has set its sights on achieving climate justice and empowering impoverished communities as its foremost objectives. Held under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, the summit provides a premier platform for dialogue, solution exploration, and decision-making to support global climate change efforts.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), emphasized that WGES aims to empower developing regions, promote global cooperation, and stimulate public-private partnerships to address climate change. The summit will emphasize advancing green policies, promoting cutting-edge technologies, and easing the transition to a green economy while tackling energy supply challenges and risks associated with the green transition.

Organized by the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, DEWA, and the World Green Economy Organisation (WGEO), the 10th WGES will occur on October 2-3, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This year's theme, 'Empowering Global Action: Unlocking Opportunities and Advancing Progress,' will spotlight key pillars such as decarbonisation, clean energy advancements including green hydrogen and energy storage, climate finance, circular economy, technological solutions to tackle climate change, youth engagement, and food and water security.
