The Sindhi Foundation, on Monday, organized a protest outside the Pakistani Consulate in Houston, Texas, seeking justice for the kidnapped Hindu girl, Priya Kumari. This demonstration marked the fifth protest in the U.S. and Canada, with previous events in front of the United Nations in the U.K., Switzerland, and Canada. The foundation has urgently requested the U.N. to conduct an independent investigation to rescue the innocent child.

Leading the protest was Munawar 'Sufi' Laghari, Executive Director of the Sindhi Foundation, who traveled from Washington, D.C., along with the local Sindhi community of Houston. The protesters drew attention to the crime allegedly committed by the influential Syed family from Sukkur, including Federal Minister Khurshid Shah, Sindh Parliament Member Nasar Shah, and President Zardari. The crime, reportedly executed on August 19, 2021, involved the kidnapping of a six-year-old girl, allegedly due to a personal grudge against her parents.

Protesters argued that the perpetrators, protected by their connections with Pakistan's military and government, often escape justice. They claimed this incident reflects the broader persecution of Hindu minorities in Pakistan, where young girls face abductions, forced conversions, and marriages against their will. Speakers at the protest condemned these acts and called for immediate international intervention to protect the Hindu population in Sindh.

Prominent voices like Maqbool Channa from the U.K., journalist Zakir Bullo, and vice president of the Sindhi Association of North America (SANA) Asghar Pathan passionately denounced Pakistan's judicial system for failing to safeguard minority rights. They highlighted the ongoing systemic injustices, emphasizing the need for urgent action to prevent further human rights violations. The event concluded with a powerful speech from Munawar 'Sufi' Laghari, who blamed the Pakistani establishment for shielding those responsible for such atrocities.
