Chelsea has officially signed English winger Jadon Sancho from Manchester United on a season-long loan deal, according to reports from British media on Saturday. The deal was completed just after the transfer window closed, with appropriate paperwork submitted to the Premier League post the 11 p.m. deadline.

The BBC reported that Chelsea is required to make the move permanent after the loan period, for a fee ranging between 20 million to 25 million pounds ($59.1 million). Sancho moved to Manchester United in 2021 from Borussia Dortmund on a five-year contract but faced issues with manager Erik ten Hag, leading to his loan return to Dortmund in January until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old winger made a substitution appearance in United's penalty shootout defeat to Manchester City in the Community Shield earlier this month. However, he was excluded from Ten Hag's roster for the initial league games. Sancho has 83 caps for United, netting 12 goals, and has represented England 23 times. Notably, he was among the players who missed penalties in the Euro 2020 final against Italy, which England lost.

Chelsea is slated to host Crystal Palace in their upcoming league match on Sunday. (Conversion rate: $1 = 0.7618 pounds)
