India has officially operationalized its new resident mission in Tirana, Albania, effective August 10, 2024, according to a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

The new Embassy is located at Maritim Hotel Plaza Tirana, Abdi Toptani Street 18, Tirana, with contact information provided for further communications. This move is expected to deepen political relations and enhance India's diplomatic footprint, particularly in multilateral forums.

The establishment of the Indian Mission in Albania will not only strengthen diplomatic and economic ties but also promote investments, trade, and sustained political outreach. It will facilitate people-to-people contacts and support the Indian community residing in Albania.

Albania's Foreign Minister, Igli Hasani, hailed India as a 'major international player' and emphasized the importance of increased engagement between the two countries. Hasani, who attended the Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi, expressed his commitment to bolstering India-Albania cooperation, signaling Albania's intent to reopen its embassy in Delhi soon.
