India and Zimbabwe Reinforce Bilateral Ties in Harare: Third Foreign Office Consultations
India and Zimbabwe concluded their third Foreign Office Consultations in Harare, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations across various sectors. Leaders from both nations discussed cooperation in development, trade, digital technology, agriculture, health, and defence, among other areas, and agreed to meet next in New Delhi.

In Harare, India and Zimbabwe conducted their third Foreign Office Consultations, furthering their bilateral relations. During the discussions, which took place on August 6, 2024, the two delegations explored strengthening cooperation in development partnerships, trade and economic relations, digital technology, agriculture, health, defence, consular, and cultural sectors.
The Indian delegation was led by Puneet R Kundal, Additional Secretary (East and Southern Africa), Ministry of External Affairs, while Mike Chigiji, Chief Director (Political), Zimbabwe's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, headed the Zimbabwean team. The discussions covered regional and global issues of mutual interest, including United Nations cooperation, and provided an opportunity to review and deepen bilateral ties.
The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted that the consultations reviewed existing institutional mechanisms like the Joint Commission and the Joint Trade Committee. Cooperation in sectors such as defence, agriculture, health, mines, digital platforms, education, and cultural exchanges was also a focal point of the talks. The next meeting is slated to be held in New Delhi on a mutually agreed date.
