CAIRO, Egypt — In a significant diplomatic exchange, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt and King Abdullah II of Jordan held a phone conversation on August 7.

The leaders focused on the escalating regional tensions, particularly in the Gaza Strip. They concluded that their countries are in continuous contact to mitigate the Middle East crisis.
