Two young siblings in Palghar, Maharashtra, have become local heroes after their quick thinking saved lives. Smit Bhandare, 12, and his sister Sanskruti, 9, noticed a high-tension wire had snapped and fallen on a neighboring building's gate while it was raining heavily.
Smit, recalling a science lesson about conductors, realized the danger and immediately began shouting warnings from their balcony. Their quick actions prevented several people, including a 10-year-old neighbor and a delivery agent, from getting electrocuted.
The siblings' bravery was recognized by District Collector Govind Bodke and a senior police official at a special felicitation ceremony. Their story has inspired the local community and won them widespread praise.
