Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Raoof Hasan was remanded in custody for 14 days by an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad, ARY News reported on Saturday. Judge Tahir Abbas Supra rejected a plea for a seven-day physical remand.

Earlier, the ATC had extended Hasan's physical remand by one day. Islamabad Police detained Hasan, PTI's information secretary, on July 22 in the capital, as reported by ARY News.

The arrest took place at the party secretariat in sector G-8. Law enforcement officials, armed with solid evidence, conducted a raid at the PTI Secretariat, the Islamabad police confirmed. The raid was based on information from an international social media activist linked to PTI, who suggested the digital media centre was part of a global disinformation network.
