The opposition alliance Tehreek Tahafuz Aaeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP) announced Saturday that it will hold nationwide protests on July 26, demanding the release of political prisoners, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, and calling for a fresh mandate. Citing The Express Tribune, they seek to reclaim what they term a 'stolen mandate.'

TTAP leaders passed a unanimous resolution for the immediate release of political prisoners and the formation of an empowered judicial commission to probe the shooting of peaceful marchers in Bannu. The alliance also urged the resignation of the ruling party and demanded fresh elections, while praising the Supreme Court's decision on reserved seats.

Senior politicians, including Mahmood Khan Achakzai, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, and other notable opposition figures attended the meeting. They discussed the ongoing political and economic situation and passed resolutions for economic relief and a fair investigation into incidents of violence. The alliance called for dismissing the IG and Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and criticized the government's policies, which they believe led to rampant inflation and public misery, urging immediate corrective measures.
