Penpa Tsering, the President of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile, has commended India's unwavering support in preserving Tibetan culture and emphasized the deep-rooted cultural connections between Tibet and New Delhi. Tsering stated that Tibetans consider themselves an extension of Indian culture, language, and religion.

He highlighted that the Tibetan language and religion are based on Indian scripts, with many Sanskrit and Pali texts translated into Tibetan to preserve ancient Indian wisdom. Tsering also acknowledged India's role in providing refuge to the Dalai Lama and 72,000 Tibetans following China's annexation of Tibet in 1951.

Tsering further discussed the recent visit of a United States Congressional delegation to India, including meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. He viewed the delegation's visit to Dharamshala and subsequent meetings as a validation of support for the Tibetan cause. Moreover, Tsering praised US President Joe Biden's signing of the 'Resolve Tibet Bill,' which he claimed has significantly unsettled China.
