In a significant effort to bolster cancer care standards, nearly 20 cancer specialists and policy makers from ASEAN Member States gathered in India. This meeting, organized as part of the National Cancer Grid (NCG), aims to standardize cancer diagnosis and treatment practices across the region.
Launched by the Tata Memorial Centre in 2012, the NCG now includes over 300 cancer centers, research institutes, and advocacy groups. The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted this collaboration as part of the 10-point plan from the recent ASEAN-India Summit.
By extending the initiative with NCG 'Vishwam', the program seeks to share best practices globally, notably with the International Atomic Energy Agency. This strengthens the ASEAN-India partnership and aids global cancer care efforts.
