In a significant development for India's pharmaceutical sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated Lyfius Pharma's state-of-the-art Penicillin-G plant in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.
The facility, which boasts an annual production capacity of 15,000 metric tonnes, was launched virtually in the presence of Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and other dignitaries.
This Rs 2,500 crore project under the government's PLI Scheme underscores the pivotal role of private sector participation in national growth and innovation, according to Lyfius Pharma. It aims to bolster local production and reduce import dependency, aligning with the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' vision.
