Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma was admitted to the hospital on Friday with a high fever. Subsequent blood tests revealed that he has scrub typhus and typhoid.

Sangma was taken to Shillong Civil Hospital after he complained of extreme discomfort. The tests confirmed the dual diagnoses, according to hospital officials.

His condition remains stable, and he is under close surveillance by a medical team. Due to his health, Sangma missed the first day of the assembly session.
