Punjab Assembly Session Set for Fiery Debates Amid Rising Tensions

The Vidhan Sabha session, which will run until September 4, kicks off with obituary references. Congress leaders such as MLA Aruna Chaudhary have expressed their intent to highlight the decline in law and order. She stressed that incidents of snatching, theft, and extortion have become daily occurrences in the state.

Additionally, the opposition accuses the government of failing to deliver on its promises, including a pledge to provide Rs 1,000 per month to every woman and establish 18 colleges. BJP MLA Jangi Lal Mahajan intends to address illegal sand mining, while Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira criticized the brief session duration, arguing it undermines the assembly's role in democracy.
