New Delhi (India), July 16: SMSRC & Group (Medclin Research and Synaegis) has released a detailed study on the major disease trends in India, with Respiratory System Diseases emerging as the largest health concern. The data was gathered from over 10,700 doctors in more than 80 cities over a period of 15 years.

The study reveals that Respiratory System Diseases account for 15.3% of all prescriptions in India, making it the most prevalent disease area, followed by Endocrine & Metabolic diseases at 13.5%. Respiratory conditions like URTI and COPD are on the rise, driven by factors such as pollution and lifestyle choices.

Experts suggest the use of inhalers and nebulizers for more effective treatment. Dr. Sanjoy Mitra, Founder & MD of SMSRC, emphasizes the need for a better lifestyle and stricter pollution control to combat the increasing respiratory disease burden in India. SMSRC plans to continue research to support better treatment compliance and awareness.
