In a significant move, Algorand Foundation's India initiative has joined hands with Lok Swasthya self-employed women's association to launch the Digital Health Passport through its blockchain platform, AlgoBharat. This initiative, unveiled on Tuesday, aims to streamline healthcare access and ensure data security in compliance with India's new Personal Identifiable Information regulations.

The Digital Health Passport will offer users a secure, immutable record of their verified health credentials, making it easier to access crucial health benefits and social safety net programs. This collaboration is particularly beneficial for the SEWA Shakti Kendras, which can now scale their services more effectively based on individual household needs.

Algorand Foundation's VP and India Country Head, Anil Kakani, expressed his privilege in partnering with Lok Swasthya SEWA, highlighting the potential for improved healthcare outcomes for working women and their families. SEWA Social Security Director Mirai Chatterjee emphasized that secure access to healthcare documents will empower women workers, fostering economic empowerment and self-reliance.
