The director of a private hospital has been booked for allegedly raping a 25-year-old patient, according to police reports on Saturday.

Police revealed that Dr. Ashish Kumar Yadav, who also serves as a physician, is accused of assaulting the woman while she was unconscious in the operation theatre. Circle Officer of Patti, Anand Kumar Rai, identified the accused as the director of Ashish Hospital and Surgical Centre in Dhakwa Bazaar, Aspur Devsara area.

Authorities say the victim, who initially visited the hospital with her mother, was advised to undergo surgery for a breast lump by Yadav. Although the procedure took place three days prior, she was called back to the hospital on Friday for a bandage change. It was during this visit that Yadav allegedly drugged and raped her in the operation theatre. The case was registered after the woman's father lodged a complaint, according to officer Rai.
