The Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) announced on Monday that power tariffs will remain unchanged for the fiscal year 2025-26, marking the fourth consecutive year without an increase.

OERC's Secretary and Director of Regulatory Affairs, Priyabrata Patnaik, stated the tariffs for 2025-26 will match those of 2024-25. A waiver of smart meter charges for connections up to 2 kilowatts will benefit over 80 lakh consumers in Odisha. Domestic users will be charged 2.90 paisa per unit for up to 50 units, with rates increasing incrementally for higher usage.

Additionally, consumers opting for electronic billing will receive a Rs 10 rebate. An extra incentive is offered for users consuming over 10KW during the solar hour, from 8 am to 4 pm.
