Karnataka's Energy Minister, K J George, has denied accusations made by BJP MLA CN Ashwath Narayan regarding the involvement of a blacklisted company in the state's electricity meter supply contracts.

Narayan alleged that significant financial irregularities, amounting to Rs 15,568 crore, have transpired within the tender process of Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) and other related entities. The MLA accused the Congress-led government of favoritism.

The Energy Minister countered these claims, explaining that the company in question was barred for two years by the Uttar Pradesh government but is not blacklisted. He noted that contracts have since been awarded to the firm by 16 other states, emphasizing the need for accuracy in such allegations.
