On Wednesday, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, the political party led by actor Vijay, celebrated its one-year anniversary. Jan Suraj Chief Prashant Kishor, serving as an advisor to Vijay, was present at the festive occasion. Vijay aims to disrupt the dominance of the two major Dravidian parties in the upcoming assembly elections, declaring his party as an emerging political force with historical ambitions for 2026.
During a public address in Chennai, Vijay emphasized the fluid nature of political alliances, stating, "Politics operates on a different level. There are no permanent allies or adversaries." He underscored the unpredictable shifts in political support, highlighting this dynamic as a core aspect of political strategy.
Regarding the three-language policy controversy, Vijay critiqued both state and central government stances, likening their disputes to childish altercations. He accused the governments of neglecting educational funding responsibilities, stating, "Amid major issues, BJP and DMK are engaging in trivial hashtag battles."
In parallel, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin held a cabinet meeting on Tuesday to discuss constituency delimitation concerns. An all-party meeting is set for March 5 to address potential representation losses, as Stalin forecasts a decrement in MPs, urging protests to defend the state's interests.
