In the aftermath of unrest near Jama Masjid in Sambhal district on November 24, Uttar Pradesh police have arrested 50 individuals, according to officials. Superintendent Krishnan Kumar Bishnoi emphasized that the search is ongoing for another 91 people believed to be connected to the violence.

Investigation efforts are diligently being pursued, considering all potential leads pertaining to the cause of the incident and those responsible. The violence follows an episode last month, during an Archeological Survey of India (ASI) inspection of a Mughal-era mosque, resulting in several casualties and injuries.

Meanwhile, Assistant Superintendent of Police Shrish Chandra revealed that construction of a new police post near Jama Masjid is being expedited to accommodate officers currently stationed outdoors. The post's completion is prioritized to ensure proper facilities for the police force operating in the area.
